About
After serving the US Navy and the FAA for over thirty years as an air traffic controller, and forced by federal law to retire at the age of 56, Rodney discovered a new use for the unique sound of his voice. Voice Acting. Subsequent to extensive research, technical training and coaching he discovered that telling stories as a second career might just be something he could wrap his mind around. After all, with a daughter entering kindergarten a mere one month before his official retirement date, he could not expect to simply sit on the porch and watch the world go by.
With a natural southern accent and a voice that has been described as deep, throaty, smoky and husky, Rodney turned his love of all things “cowboy” into a thriving audiobook narration practice. Rodney believes he has a unique gift of being able to determine when he is NOT suited for a title. Which allows him to concentrate on the genres and titles best suited for his voice’s distinctive qualities.
With over 250 titles to his credit, Rodney uses his voice to tell the stories of Classic Westerns as well as Contemporary Mystery Thrillers to a micro-genre entitled “Southern Fried Horror”. Breathing life into cowboys, marshals, ranchers, horse thieves, stagecoach drivers and sometimes zombies and mojo men. He intends to continue telling such stories until there are no more stories to tell.
